You can now inject personalised shift information into bulk communications.
This is powerful for sending reminder emails or SMS to all volunteers about their shifts on your upcoming events.
Email blasts
- Email blasts to group members can include a variable showing all the supporter's upcoming shifts across all the events they plan to attend. These can be filtered by date, to only send emails about shifts on a particular day.
- Email blasts to event RSVPs can include a variable showing all the supporter's upcoming shifts for the selected event. It is also possible to filter these by date, to only send emails about shifts on a particular day.
SMS blasts
- SMS blasts to group members can include a variable showing all the supporter's upcoming shifts across all events, limited to to a maximum of their next 5 shifts. This limit to the next 5 shifts is important given character counts and associated costs for SMS. These blasts can also be filtered by date, to only send messages to supporters with shifts on a particular day.
- SMS blasts to event RSVPs can include a variable showing all the supporter's upcoming shifts for the selected event (again, limited to the next 5 shifts). It is also possible to filter these by date, to only send messages to supporters with shifts on a particular day.
Using this new feature
In order to inject the relevant shift information in your email and SMS blasts, you can select the new checkbox pictured below, labelled "I want to include shift information in this email/SMS blast". You can also choose to only show shifts for a specific date if you would like. So, for example, you could set up a reminder SMS or email for each day of shifts on a multi-day event.
